The REACT-C19 project was initiated by the Azerbaijan Office of the World Health Organization to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Azerbaijan. The project aims to improve preparedness in designated hospitals and strengthen key skills to fight the pandemic in our country.  To this end, 19 doctors working in Turkey in different specialties (infectious diseases, lung diseases, anesthesiology and intensive care, internal diseases) will provide various consulting services in Baku and the regions for 3 months.

Under the supervision of the Field Coordinator, they will collaborate with local physicians and administrators to identify and address existing problems in hospitals in the areas of hospitalization, infection prevention and control, patient management, treatment methods, etc. Based on WHO protocols, medical workers will undergo training, and these trainings will continue through a special online platform created for the project. As a result, at the end of the project, efforts will be made to provide medical personnel and pandemic control services in all hospitals to or close to WHO standards.
