On April 16, 2020, the logo of the World Health Organization was displayed on the building of the Heydar Aliyev Center, one of the main architectural symbols of Azerbaijan. The ceremony was attended by WHO Representative in Azerbaijan Hande Harmanci and UN Resident Coordinator Gulam Ishaqzai, as well as doctors from Turkey to Azerbaijan within the REACT-C19 project.
At the frontline of the fight, the World Health Organization (WHO), along with thousands of staff, supports member states and their communities in the react against the virus, especially those most affected by the pandemic, with advice, training, equipment and vital services.
It should be noted that the WHO and other UN agencies are working closely with the Azerbaijani government and other partners to address the urgent problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The REACT-C19 project is also being implemented to strengthen COVID-19 control measures.
